**A STUDENT DOES NOT HAVE TO RAISE AN ANIMAL PROJECT IF THEY ARE IN
AN AGRICULTURE CLASS! **
*IT IS MERLY AN ADDITIONAL OPPORTUNITY WE GIVE OUR
STUDENTS!!*
How does it work?
- You purchase a show quality animal
- You feed the show quality animal show quality feed in a
“proper” environment
- You work with that animal the way your FFA Advisor
advises you to.
- You go to the show (Prospect Shows, County Show, or a
Major Show)
- You attempt to “make the sale” by showing your animal
to the best of your ability (showmanship is IMPORTANT) – your FFA Advisor
will help you with this.
- You should go into this project hoping to make sale.
You will need to talk to people/businesses around town and ask them to
come and “bid” on your project.
** If you get advice
from your FFA Advisor about your project and don’t take it, you could be
lowering your chances of making the sale. Your FFA Advisor is there to advise
you. However, you MUST have permission from your FFA Advisor to administer any
type of medications to your animal(s). **
YOU DO NOT NEED TO RAISE AN ANIMAL TO BE IN THE FFA! THERE ARE
MANY MORE OPPORTUNITIES THAT COME BY BEING A MEMBER OF THE FFA!
However, if you do choose to raise an animal project, the cost of the project
including travel and shows is solely your responsibility.
